This Privacy Policy describes how Turnt ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Turnt platform, website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1.Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, purchase tickets, list a service on the marketplace, submit a host application, or contact us for support. This includes your name, email address, phone number, username, Instagram handle, profile picture, location, and certain payment-related information. We also collect information automatically when you use the Platform, including usage data, device information, IP addresses, browser type, cookies, and interaction data such as event views, referral link clicks, and page navigation. We may combine information collected from you with information obtained from other sources. You acknowledge that any information you voluntarily submit to the Platform may be stored, processed, and used by us as described in this policy, and you are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
2.How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform; create and manage user accounts; process ticket purchases and send purchase confirmations and receipts; connect event organizers (hosts) with their team members; enable team-based event management with role-based access; send transactional and promotional communications including SMS, push notifications, and email; process payouts to event organizers via Stripe Connect; verify phone numbers for account security; provide customer support; detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and legal violations; enforce our Terms of Service; and monitor, analyze, and share aggregated or de-identified usage patterns to improve the Platform and our services. We may use your information in any other manner permitted by applicable law or as otherwise described to you at the point of collection. You consent to these uses of your information as a condition of using the Platform.
3.Information Sharing and Team Access
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, we may share, disclose, or transfer your information as follows: (a) when you purchase a ticket to an event, the event organizer and their authorized team members (owners, admins, promoters, door staff, and other designated roles) may access your ticket information, including your email address, for the purpose of managing their event and guest list; (b) with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform (such as payment processors, SMS providers, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support tools), who are bound by confidentiality obligations; (c) in connection with any merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, financing, or due diligence involving Turnt; (d) to comply with any legal obligation, court order, subpoena, or government request; and (e) to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Turnt, our users, or the public. Team members see only the information necessary for their assigned role — for example, door staff can only scan tickets, while promoters see only their own referral link performance. We are not responsible for how event organizers or their team members use or protect your information once shared with them.
4.Payment Information
Payment card information is processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Event organizers receive payouts through Stripe Connect, and their Stripe account information is linked to their team profile. Stripe's use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy, which you are responsible for reviewing. Turnt is not responsible for the privacy practices or security of Stripe or any other payment processor, and you waive any claim against Turnt arising from their handling of your payment information.
5.SMS and Text Messages
By providing your phone number and opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages from Turnt regarding event updates, ticket confirmations, promotions, and account notifications. Event organizers may also send text message blasts to contacts who have opted in. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You acknowledge that Turnt and its SMS providers are not liable for any missed, delayed, or undelivered message, and that you are responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier. 6.Marketplace and Service Listings
Our Marketplace allows users to list and discover event-related services such as DJ, venue, catering, photography, and other services. When you list a service, the information you provide (including your name or business name, contact phone number, location, pricing, and images) is visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines or third parties. Contact information you provide in a listing is shared with users who wish to inquire about your services. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any listing you create, and you release Turnt from any liability arising from your listings or your interactions with other users through the Marketplace.
7.Phone Number Verification
We may use your phone number to verify your identity for account security purposes. Verification codes are sent via SMS and are used solely to confirm that you are the owner of the phone number provided. Verification codes are temporary and are not retained after verification is complete. You are responsible for ensuring the phone number you provide is accurate and belongs to you, and you agree to indemnify Turnt against any claim arising from your provision of a phone number that you do not own or are not authorized to use.
8.Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Transaction records, ticket histories, dispute records, and account information may be retained for longer periods for accounting, tax, audit, legal compliance, and dispute resolution purposes, even after your account is closed. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through Account settings, which triggers a verification process via email and, if applicable, your password; however, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, and deletion requests do not guarantee the complete or immediate removal of all data from our systems or from backups.
9.Data Security and Access Controls
We take reasonable measures to help protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We enforce role-based access controls so that team members only access data relevant to their assigned role. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our systems, data, or transmissions. You acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk, and that Turnt is not liable for any unauthorized access, breach, or compromise of your information to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10.Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (including web beacons and pixel tags) to track activity on the Platform, remember your preferences, measure advertising effectiveness, and hold certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you do not accept cookies, some portions of the Platform may not function properly. We and our third-party partners may also use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant advertising on and off the Platform. You may opt out of certain targeted advertising through your browser or device settings, but we are not responsible for the effectiveness of such opt-outs.
11.Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and no one under 18 may use the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can investigate. We are not liable for any misrepresentation of age by any user.
12.Your Rights and Limitations
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data, subject to applicable legal exceptions. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (though we do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration). We may require verification of your identity before responding to a request, and we may decline or limit a request where permitted by law. We are not obligated to comply with any request that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, unlawful, or would compromise the security or integrity of the Platform or another person's rights. Any dispute regarding our handling of a privacy request shall be resolved exclusively under the arbitration agreement in our Terms of Service.
13.Changes to This Policy
We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, in our sole discretion. We will indicate the updated "Effective Date" at the top of this page and may, but are not obligated to, notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on the Platform or through other communications. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, your sole and exclusive remedy is to immediately discontinue all use of the Platform. We have no obligation to provide you with individual notice of any change.
